What will become of the silver economy, which was perceived as one of the most desirable opportunities to revive the economic system? European Commission data, until before the outbreak of the pandemic, indicated that the turnover of the third age economy will reach 6,400 billion euros by 2025 and that it will be responsible for 40% of new jobs. As for Italy, the expenditure made by the over-sixties amounted to 200 billion, almost a fifth of the total consumption of residents (with an annual per capita consumption of 15,700 euros compared to 12,500 of those under 35).
