Oculus Rift redefines the concept of meditation

Meditation has always allowed us to observe ourselves from other points of view, but now technology is making us look at meditation with fresh eyes. The latest edition of Los Angeles’ E3, the world’s leading video game conference, saw the unveiling of a host of fascinating initiatives based around the fusion of virtual reality and therapeutic meditation. And while such developments might cause annoyance among disciples of the traditional methods, virtual meditation is capable of helping more and more people access the benefits of meditation at an increasingly affordable price.

Guided Meditation

Already available on Oculus and Gear VR, coming soon on HTC Vive.

Therapeutic Meditation

It’s worth taking a closer look at the Inner Activity project, which combines the Oculus with a subwoofer for full immersion in a mystic dimension.

The objective of these ideas is to alleviate pain and stress, moving away from traditional video games and redefining the boundaries of virtual reality, which is increasingly being used for healing purposes. Quite simply, it is the start of a therapeutic revolution.
