Google presents Android Pay: all you need to know.

Android Pay is the new service developed by Google to make the digital payments of Android users quicker and simpler. Already available in the US, in Europe it has only been made available in Belgium for now. The service represents a big step for Big G which until recently seemed reluctant to enter an arena in which Apple, Amazon and many players from the banking sector are slugging it out no holds barred.

How does Android Pay work?
Android Pay is underpinned by the global partnership between Google and PayPal which enables all devices with the Android operating system to pay using PayPal without having to install the app of the 100% digital bank created by Elon Musk.

Who accepts payments using Android Pay?
In Belgium, Android Pay will be available at over 80,000 POS that accept contactless payments. Well-known brands already equipped for these types of payments include Carrefour, McDonald’s, Media Markt and H&M.

What are the requirements for paying using a smartphone?
Backward compatibility is the strength of Android Pay. In fact, all you need is a device – a smartphone or smartwatch – with Android KitKat (or superior) to pay using NFC by brushing the terminal with your device. With equal simplicity Android Pay can also be used to complete in-app payments.
