Tendercapital at the Salone del Risparmio: sustainability in Italian companies

The leading Made in Italy companies are meeting to discuss a hot topic that is crucial to the fashion and design industry: the green economy. “Sustainability as value creation in companies” is the title of the conference organized by Tendercapital at 14.00 on 2nd April at the Salone del Risparmio.

Several eminent guests will discuss the subject. The first is the president of the National Chamber of Italian Fashion, Carlo Capasa. Under his leadership, the CNMI has become a global leader with regard to sustainability, especially in light of the publication of the first “Guidelines on eco-toxicological requirements for clothing, leather goods, footwear and accessories”, the “CNMI principles for sustainable retail” and the “Guidelines on eco-toxicological requirements for chemical mixtures and industrial waste.”

One of the leading supermodels will also take part in the debate: Eva Herzigova. She is one of the most famous faces of all time in the fashion industry. She has starred in numerous international advertising campaigns for companies such as Louis Vuitton, Calvin Klein, Giorgio Armani, Prada and Dolce & Gabbana, as well as for luxury cosmetics line Christian Dior.

The final speaker is Rossana Orlandi, a gallery owner with a real sixth sense for artistic talent. After 20 years in the fashion world, at the start of the new millennium she decided to transform her passion for design into a gallery. The Galleria Rossana Orlandi, opened in 2002 in a former tie factory in Milan, soon became a meeting place for design and art, attracting both young creatives and established talents.

The debate will be moderated by Livia Firth, founder of Eco-Age, the famous integrated consultancy firm that specializes in sustainability and communication, internationally renowned for creating global communication campaigns to promote environmental and social justice. She was also named as a Leader of Change by the United Nations and was awarded with the UN’s Fashion 4 Development Award and the Rainforest Alliance Award for “Outstanding Achievement in Sustainability”.
