Between the war in Ukraine, which triggered a sharp increase in energy costs, inflation and the slowdown of the economic cycle after the strong recovery following the pandemic crisis, for Italians the last period has not been easy. Despite an improving outlook, which sees the country growing more than Germany this year, uncertainty and concern prevail when looking to the future. Focusing on the trend is the fourth report by Censis and the savings management company Tendercapital on ‘social sustainability and the renewed challenge of Italian welfare’. It emerges that 84.9% of Italians, thinking about the future, declare that they see fog, uncertainty and insecurity. A vision shared by 76.7% of young people, 86.4% of adults and 88.1% of the elderly, the result of a further expansion of socioeconomic difficulties even for those who had remained immune during the pandemic period.
