Presentation of the 2° Tendercapital-Censis Observatory on Silver Economy

On Monday 21 June, at 10.00 a.m., the Sala Zuccari of Palazzo Giustiniani in Rome will host the presentation of the Second Tendercapital-Censis Silver Economy Observatory entitled: « The Silver economy in the darkest year ». The pandemic made young people and adults suffer the most, while the elderly have proved to be a tough generation with considerable psychological resilience. The latter, now more than ever, are ready to live again with an active longevity characterised by relationality, pleasure and consumption.

The meeting will be attended by: Giuseppe De Rita, President of Censis; Moreno Zani, Chairman of Tendercapital; Annamaria Parente, President of the Senate Health and Hygiene Commission; Paolo Crepet, Psychiatrist and Sociologist; Massimo Ciccozzi, Professor of Epidemiology and Medical Statistics at the University Campus Bio-Medico of Rome; Francesco Verbaro, Institutional Relations at Adepp; and Francesco Maietta, Head of Social Policies at Censis.

According to Giuseppe De Rita, President of Censis: « The desire of the elderly to start again, as described by the Observatory, is made up of psychic energy that wants to be put back into motion in everyday life, in relationships, in consumption, in travel, in being away from home. It is the subjectivity we need in order to start again, much more than plans or decisions of power.

« The silver have borne the pandemic test well on a psychological level. Strengthened by a favourable economic situation and ready to live again, they confirm that they are not only an increasingly important segment of the population in numerical and economic terms, but also a fundamental point of reference at a social level, including for generations to come ». Explains Moreno Zani, President of Tendercapital.
