The pandemic hit Italian society like a hurricane, as it did in many other countries. Now that we can see light at the end of the tunnel on the health front thanks to the arrival of vaccines, it is time to start thinking about the critical issues that the economic-health emergency has exacerbated or even brought to light. The picture drawn by the Tendercapital-Censis Observatory is an excellent starting point: it outlines both the strong points of the social structure of Italy and its weaknesses. Moreno Zani, Chairman of Tendercapital, starts by analysing these weaknesses: « It is important not to forget the critical points already anticipated by the last edition of the Observatory and which have emerged with even greater force over the last year, problems that should not be underestimated because of the impact they can have on the country’s social sustainability. After a full year of deprivation and economic difficulties, it is necessary to heal society’s wounds, cushioning the economic and social hardships caused or amplified by the pandemic, now that the health effects appear to be under control ».
