It is becoming increasingly urgent to allocate more economic resources to healthcare and to concretely address the dramatic phenomena of waiting lists and treatment withdrawal ». This was stated by Barbara Cittadini (photo), national president of Aiop, the Italian Association of Private Hospitals, who added: « The solutions are there, but it is urgent that they be adopted: the direct or private component of the NHS has unexpressed potential and is just waiting to be put in a position to meet the unfulfilled demand for health care.
